2024 Distinguished Alumni Award Winner

Tindl Rainey, a native of Okaloosa County, Florida, has dedicated her career to conservation and public service. A 2001 graduate of Okaloosa-Walton Community College, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Florida State University. Her academic foundation in human behavior, combined with a deep-rooted connection to the natural beauty of the Emerald Coast, shaped a conservation ethic focused on the intersection of people and the environment. This perspective fueled a 21-year tenure with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), where she held key leadership roles including Director of Licensing and Permitting, Director of Strategic Initiatives, and Chief Communications Officer.

She now serves as the Director of Conservation and External Relations for the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida, where she continues to champion innovative, collaborative approaches to conservation across the state. Her work reflects a lifelong commitment to conserving Florida’s fish and wildlife while inspiring others to value and protect the natural world. She lives in Tallahassee with her family and enjoys weekend adventures fishing, camping, and exploring Florida’s wild and beautiful places.
