Doolittle Raiders Exhibit
In a tribute to the heroic Doolittle Raiders, Northwest Florida State College is constructing a museum-quality exhibit in the lobby of The Arena, located on the Niceville campus of Northwest Florida State College. The permanent exhibit is especially important to the College because the proud “Raiders” name was selected during the institution’s first year of operation as its mascot to honor of the brave airmen who trained at Eglin Field, now Eglin Air Force Base.
The Foundation is asking you to consider a tax-deductible gift to help build this unique exhibit. Your gift will honor the extraordinary courage and airmanship of the Doolittle Raiders and help Northwest Florida State College pay tribute to the Raiders proud heritage.
The exhibit will be unveiled on April 17, 2013, during the opening program for the Doolittle Raiders 71st annual reunion of the crews, hosted by the Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce. The timing of this event is significant not only because several of the five surviving Doolittle Raiders are expected to be in attendance, but also because April 2013 represents an important milestone for Northwest Florida State College, the start of its 50th anniversary year!
