Faculty member establishes the Jack and Anna Heise Memorial Scholarship

April 11, 2018

NICEVILLE, FL – Northwest Florida State College professor and chair of the Science Department, Dr. Philip Heise, recently presented the College with a gift of $1,000 to establish the Jack and Anna Heise Memorial Scholarship. Dr. Philip Heise has been a faculty member at NWF since 2002 and is a strong proponent of the positive effects that a college education can make in a person’s life.  However, from personal experience, he knows that the desire to obtain a college degree is not always paired with the financial ability to do so.  As such, he wishes to offer assistance to those who may need it.  The scholarship is named in honor of his parents, who always supported and assisted him during his college experiences.

The Jack and Anna Heise Memorial Scholarship will provide financial support for students enrolled at Northwest Florida State College.  The scholarship shall be provided to a student (traditional or non-traditional) with demonstrated financial need residing in a single parent household. The award may be used for tuition, fees and books.

Thank you, Dr. Heise!
