NWF Foundation Holds Annual Scholars and Donors Luncheon
On Friday October 21st, the Northwest Florida State College Foundation held their Annual Scholars and Donors Luncheon. This year, the NWF State College Foundation celebrated scholarship recipients and the donors who made their scholarships possible. The Foundation currently heralds over half a million in scholarship dollars supporting 415 deserving students. Held every fall, the luncheon provides an opportunity for students to meet and thank their donors in person. Donors are seated with their scholars and are able to learn first-hand how their generosity impacts students.
Two student scholars, Shayna Clay (Crestview) and Clay Keel (Shalimar), spoke on behalf of the scholars attending the luncheon and provided personal testimonials about how donors’ gifts are directly impacting NWF State College students. Attendees were also treated to key note speaker, Ms. Judy Byrne Riley, who took us on a journey through her educational endeavors. Ms. Riley created of the William A. Byrne Scholarship, which is intended to support a non-traditional female student with children who demonstrates financial need.
Also celebrated at this year’s luncheon were the establishment of the Foundation’s most recent endowments by recognizing them as inductees into the Visionary Society. This year’s inductees included Martha and Peter Bayer, Mary Ogletree, and Regional Utilities. NWF State College Foundation’s Visionary Society program provides recognition to the elite group of donors committed to building a strong foundation for years to come through the establishment of an endowment.
