Endowments leave a legacy at Northwest Florida State College that helps students, faculty and staff achieve a level of excellence that would otherwise be impossible. Donors may set up an endowment to fund a specific interest such as scholarships, instructional equipment, faculty development or other program support for the College.

The principal gift of an endowment is wisely invested with a portion of the return on the investment used to create a source of income for Northwest Florida State College. The amount of the endowment's payout, or award, is determined by the Foundation's spending policy. By leaving the principal intact, the fund lives in perpetuity.

Endowments start at $15,000 and can be made payable over time. Click here for guidelines and information on creating an endowment.

Please Note: The Dr. Philip Benjamin Matching Grant Program for Community Colleges was implemented to leverage private donations to community colleges by providing state matching funds. As of June 29, 2011, the Philip Benjamin Matching program has been suspended (FS 1011.85). Gifts received prior to June 29, 2011 are in line to be matched when funding becomes available.

Restricted Gifts

Restricted gifts can be designated to support college programs, services, individual departments, scholarships, or other support as directed by the donor. These funds are "restricted" in that the donor has specified where the funding support will be directed. These funds are intended to be fully expended within a short period of time.

Unrestricted Gifts

Unrestricted gifts provide Northwest Florida State College the flexibility to use the funds where they are needed most, providing an immediate and positive impact on the daily lives of students and faculty. An unrestricted, minimum gift of $500 annually to the President's Circle is a great way to support the College and receive recognition for your generous donation.
